OSRS Prayer P2P Upgrade Guide: Reviving Soul Heads
Jan-10-2025 PST
Olroth, Origin of the Fall is a pinnacle boss that awaits you in the endgame of Path of Exile 2. He's an undead commander from Kalguuran legends that you can discover during an Expedition Logbook encounter. This pinnacle boss guide will show you how to reach his tomb and how to defeat him when you do.
How to reach Olroth, Origin of the Fall
Olroth is buried in a tomb that you can excavate only in level 80+ Expedition Logbook maps. You'll get these logbooks from Expeditions encounters you find while exploring the Atlas of Worlds. Alternatively, you can buy a Logbook of the appropriate level from the Path of Exile 2 trade website.
In either case, you'll want to bring the logbook to Dannig, who can reveal its contents and send you to the location. Once there, look for a skull icon on the map where you'll find a tomb that you must destroy with your explosives. Once destroyed, it'll reveal the entrance to the Kalguuran Tomb, where you'll find Olroth.
How to Beat Olroth, Origin of the Fall
Among the pinnacle bosses, Olroth has the least health at just about eight million, and he's also the most singularly focused, explicitly relying on cold damage and chilling effects. The best way to bring him down is to use his one-sided defenses against him. While he isn't vulnerable to anything, he's at least not resistant to Fire, Lightning, and Chaos damage, leaving him wide open to any builds that use those types. He is heavily armored though, so physical damage fighters will need to break his armor to do sufficient damage.
You'll want to bring a Silver or Thawing Charm with you to neutralize at least one chill or freezing effect. Movement speed buffs are also a good idea as they'll help you mitigate some of the effects of the chills you don't avoid.
The fight takes place over two phases. In the first phase, Olroth attacks with melee strikes and some chill effects while the artifact floating around the battlefield provides light assistance. Dodge rolling is your best bet to avoid his skewering attacks and to quickly remove yourself from the chilled ground effects he and his artifact leave on the ground. If you aren't careful, these moves can freeze you in place. Try to stay on the opposite side of the arena from the artifact, in particular, to give yourself more time to avoid its attack.
Dealing five million damage to Olroth will deplete his Life, at which point he'll rise back up and regain about three million. You then need to defeat him again. However, this time the artifact shoots out much wider beams of ice and leaves huge swathes of the battlefield covered in frost. Olroth will yell "Starfire!" before this happens, giving you ample time to reposition yourself away from the artifact.
The best way to defeat Olroth, Origin of the Fall is with careful positioning and high damage output. As long as you're confident that you can position yourself well, investing in the right PoE 2 items and utilizing your PoE 2 currency wisely, you can prepare for this fight by specializing your passive tree for pure damage output. During the fight, stay well away from the artifact and any chilled ground effects while pouring as much damage as possible into Olroth. The faster you can bring him down, the fewer chances he'll have to leave patches of frost on the ground that'll slow you. With careful planning, strategy, and high damage output, you can overcome this pinnacle boss and reap the rewards!
