Rainbow Six Siege Patch Notes: 2.1 Update Introduces Match Cancellation

Rainbow Six: Siege was released in 2015 and has undergone frequent content updates and other improvements over the years. This led GameSpot to re-examine this conclusion in a 2020 review, arguing that “siege has not only become the crown jewel of Ubisoft’s multiplayer game, but also one of the best first-person shooters of all time.”

Rainbow Six Siege has been significantly updated on PS6, Xbox One and PC, and brings a new feature that can smooth out uneven teams, so you don’t have to suffer because your teammates are behind. "Cancel Game" has been added to the update of Year 5 Season 2.1 (Y5S2.1), you can view the complete patch description below.

As detailed on the Ubisoft website, if the team size is unbalanced due to problems that other players cannot solve, the game cancellation can allow players to vote to end the current ranking game, for example, a team player disconnects in the first round. In the preparation stage, incomplete teams will vote and the majority opinion will cancel the game. After canceling the game in this way, your ranking will not be affected.

However, Ubisoft does warn you that you will still be penalized for leaving the ongoing ranking competition, and the more you do, the worse the penalty will be. This will also apply if you leave in the middle of canceling the vote for the match, so please make sure to wait until the vote is completed and the game registration is cancelled.

Other changes in this update include minor changes to Melusi, Ace and Hibana, and a series of bug fixes. Melusi's restricted area was reduced, and Ace and Hibana's explosives were no longer able to destroy fragile small objects through reinforced walls. You can view the complete patch notes below.

The Y5S2.1 update will cancel the game! We have tested a variety of potential situations on TS and internally. However, since this is a new feature, please inform us through r6fix.ubi.com if we have any feedback or questions to report through "Game Cancellation".

Canceling a match is a new feature that allows players to cancel their current ranked match if the team size is unbalanced at the start of the match (for example: if the player disconnects before the first round of the match, or if the number of players in the lobby is less than 10 Players). The game cancel voting option will be used by incomplete teams during the preparation phase, and most votes will cancel the game. Cancelled matches will be shown as canceled and will not affect MMR.

Abstention punishment still exists, and players who give up the ongoing ranking game will still be subject to escalating waiver sanctions.

If a match cancellation vote is triggered, leaving before verifying the "match cancellation" vote will also result in a waiver of the fine. Players should stay in the game until they confirm the "match cancellation" vote and cancel the game.
